After a solid 29 hours of travelling from the UK, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival with Foden’s Band (band photos here). As well as the festival, the island is famed for the quality of its sumo-mandarins (called Hallabong), local black-pig pork, and fresh seafood caught by Jeju's famous female deep-sea divers (haenyeo).
Although the festival was the primary reason for the trip, I naturally had to bring the camera with me. Lack of luggage space meant I had to adapt my instrument case to accommodate the camera. I was therefore limited to the Nikon Z7ii with a singular all purpose lens, the 24-70mm f/2.8.
Travelling with a group is not always conducive to ‘good’ photography—often not giving us enough time to properly compose a shot, or wait for the right light. But you make the best of it, and I think I’ve come away with some cool shots here regardless.
